Astrological Perspectives for May 2011

Great truths are being unveiled. Spiritual awareness is expanding and a higher potential for Humanity is being uncovered. In the past two months, two, of the three, evolutionary planets (Uranus and Neptune), have both entered into long-term cycles. Uranus transits (moves through) the sign of Aries from March 11, 2011 thru March 5th, 2019; and Neptune transits the sign of Pisces from April 4th, 2011 thru January 2026. These two celestial cycles are catalyzing major evolutionary shifts by bringing forth new dispensations of energies that are urging us to acknowledge and express our inner wisdom and unique abilities.
This is our next step in our evolutionary journey. It is our resistance to this self-realization process that is causing upsets and suffering in our world. It is time to surrender our attachments to old ways of thinking, being and doing, and move forward in our process of becoming all that we are, as individuals and as a collective consciousness.

If you're feeling antsy, edgy or restless, it may be time to boldly go where you've never gone before! Uranus in Aries encourages us to take aggressive and courageous actions that support our collective and personal evolution. However, it can also stimulate the warrior in us and cause us to be impulsive and reactionary. So, remember to always be centered when you make important decisions, and respond in love rather than react from fear.

Neptune in Pisces energies supports the opening of our awareness to the mystical realms. This is a time when the veils between the physical and spiritual dimensions are dissolving. This means that most people will become more aware of their spiritual natures, and will experience psychic and mystical phenomena. Examples of these are: communications with deceased family; increased recognitions of spiritual guidance; feeling energies; seeing colors of auras around people; recognizing synchronicities - such as being in the right place at the right time; etc. It is good to trust your intuitive “hunches”, even when they appear to be at odds with logic or the beliefs of others. Be receptive to the messages you receive through the voices of nature, music, unexpected encounters, random conversations, dreams, and so on.
The combination of Uranus in the sign of Aries and Neptune in the sign of Pisces may stimulate dynamic expressions of religious dogma and spiritual one-upmanship. Some people may feel an urgency to begin their spiritual journey and may become fanatical in their beliefs.
These two celestial cycles nourish philosophies that recognize, acknowledge and uphold the awareness of the Oneness of all beings. Increasing feelings and expressions of compassion, charity, forgiveness, faith and love will bring hope and healing to the hearts of people all over the world.
The first 20 days of May bring the earthy, gentle, energies of the sign of Taurus. Taurus is the sign that connects us with the Earth and Nature. Take time to be outdoors, work in your garden, go on hikes, ride your bike and enjoy the budding flowers, the scents of spring and the refreshing feeling of rain. Step away from the usual stresses of your social and business worlds and relax into nature.
The New Moon, at 13 degrees of Taurus, occurs on May 2nd at 11:51 pm Pacific Daylight Time. This marks the beginning of a 29-½ day lunar month of developing personal mastery through relationships. Conflicts in points-of-view and differences in principles and ways of structuring reality provide contrasts needed for learning what you truly want in your relationships. Take the time to listen to other people’s points-of-view, even if you don’t agree. You may be amazed at what you learn about yourself, and others, by being still and listening. This will help you later in life.
From May 13th thru 22nd, the transiting Sun will be in a challenging alignment (Square Aspect) with the planet Neptune. Disclosures of previously hidden information may come to light. It’s time to discover where we’ve been living in illusion and let go of those relationships and aspects of our lives that are out of harmony with our highest ideals and spirituality. It is now time for discerning the truth about who we are and how we are showing up in our lives.
From May 21st through June 20th, the Sun will transit the witty, social, restless sign of Gemini. These Gemini energies will enhance the flow of communication. This is a good time for connecting with others to share and develop your ideas. This sign often stimulates impulses to travel, which is a good way to express and diffuse the restless Gemini energy.
The Full Moon, at 26 degrees of Scorpio, occurs on May 17th, at 4:09 am Pacific Daylight Time. Beneficial alignments between the Sun, Moon and Uranus increase the potential for insights, inventions and scientific breakthroughs to help Humanity and our planet Earth. Be open to new solutions and understandings to help your personal relationships and work. However, it is important to look carefully and deeply into things before taking actions, as there could be misunderstandings, confusions or misrepresentations.
