The Year 2009 – Mastering Mastery

The year 2009 will be a period of profound shifts in consciousness that will reshape our reality as we now know it. These shifts will be stimulated and catalyzed by several dynamic tension-producing aspects that will affect the Collective Consciousness of Humanity and each of us as individuals.

Uranus Opposition Saturn

From September 22, 2008 through September 2010, the planet Uranus is in a tension-producing alignment with the planet Saturn called an Opposition aspect. An opposition aspect happens when two planets are in opposing positions - directly across from one another in the zodiacal belt. The energy that is created by this placement is one of radical upsets, changes, conflicts and chaos in our personal lives and in the world. The planet Uranus always serves the evolution of consciousness and the ultimate well-being of our world, even when our experiences seem to indicate the opposite. It is from this contrast that spiritual evolution is achieved.

The Uranus Opposition Saturn aspect indicates a breaking up of old patterns in relationships and structures that are out of harmony with the Divine. As old structures break down, it is vital that we reassess our life from new perspectives. Ultimately, this will lead to the creation of structures for the higher good of Humanity and Earth.

This cycle is, also, linked to an acceleration of the evolution of the collective consciousness of Humanity. Although it will appear that our society and world is in chaos, this is a natural process of evolution. Within chaos and change are the seeds of possibility, new emergence and growth.

On a personal level, this cycle represents dynamic tension in relationships that will reveal the limiting and destructive ways that we express control, separation, limitation and fear. Now is the time to release or change the characteristics of our relationships that are limiting the true expression of our individuality and that are out of harmony with our True Self.

If you are not willing or able to do this, the Universe will provide other radical and upsetting circumstances that will change or end these relationships for you. It is best not to resist these changes, because they are necessary for your personal and spiritual evolution.

Be willing to hear and allow the expression of another person’s point-of-view, even if you don’t agree with it. It is also important to observe what buttons are being pushed and what emotions are being brought to the surface for you to acknowledge, clear and heal.

When you are tested by experiences of life, take time to view these tests from the highest perspective possible, and make choices from there. You can choose to be caught in the drama of limitation, tension and bizarre challenges of this world; or you can choose to ride the waves of dynamic changes while keeping in touch with the Truth of who you are – a Divine Being having profound human experiences.

It is important to do the inner work that is necessary to heal your emotions and evolve spiritually. Honor your soul’s journey and the Divine Truth that is being shown to you. Make it your daily practice to pray and meditate. Use the gift of reflection that you see in your interactions with others to take responsibility for your creations and ways-of-being.

Remember that each soul is connected to the collective soul, where we are all one. When we make choices from the awareness of our soul, we will naturally move in the right direction for our higher good and the good of all.

Jupiter in Aquarius

Jupiter is the planet of philosophy, abundance, expansion and good fortune. It gives us the ability to expand beyond perceived limitations and break through to greater experiences of abundance, prosperity and success. It shows the most effective and direct ways to create expansion and prosperity in our personal lives and in our collective world. Jupiter enters the sign of Aquarius on January 5th, and will transit this sign until January 17, 2010. Because we are now entering the “Age of Aquarius”, Jupiter in this sign will quicken and expand our ability to realize the wonderful benefits of the Golden Age.

While Jupiter is in the sign of Aquarius, inspiration and goodness will come through group situations. This will happen more quickly and directly for those of us who are willing to take the leap of faith and share our knowledge and unique gifts with our friends, groups and communities. This energy supports the common good of society and Earth. The old adage of “might makes right”, will be replaced by “all for one and one for all”. When people come out of their isolation and fear of their neighbors, they will create greater peace and joy through working together and with their local communities.

Scientific discoveries for improving the well-being of all will be discovered and implemented. For example, “green” sustainable communities will be the “in thing” to do. Natural products that support the environment will replace wasteful and environmentally destructive practices. New laws will be passed that respect the environment and support the freedom of individuals and the good of Humanity.


Jupiter in Aquarius energy supports a greater tolerance for individual differences and increased respect for the unique qualities and abilities of people. Individuals, nations and religions will realize that tolerance, respect and co-operation are essential keys for successful social order. New agreements, treaties and laws will be created that support these principals.

Barrack Obama’s natal chart has Jupiter in Aquarius, as does the Presidential Inauguration on January 20th. This is an auspicious synastry for Obama’s new term as President of the United States. It indicates cosmic support for the development of a government that is truly “for the people”*.


Pluto in Capricorn

Before we can have world peace, we must break down or transform those structures that perpetuate fear. The planet Pluto is in the second year of a 17-year cycle in the sign of Capricorn. We are in a period of purging, breaking down and transmuting all structures that are unlike Divine Love. This must occur so that Love can infiltrate all of creation and bring forth a rebirth of consciousness to a higher vibration.

During the years that Pluto last transited Capricorn, from 1762 – 1777, new concepts of government were born, including the American Declaration of Independence in 1776. The Natal Chart of the United States has Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. Therefore, the transit of Pluto in this sign will bring a purging of energies that are out of harmony with the higher principles and intentions of the founding fathers of this country. During the next 16 years the birth of a world government, based on the best interests of Humanity may begin. But first, those qualities of governments that are not in the best interest of Humanity and are out of harmony with Divine Love must be purged and transmuted.
